Who we are

CertPrepAcademy (“we,” “us,” or “the Site”) operates certprepacademy.com, a free exam-preparation website. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies across every certification section of the Site (CNA, CMA, CCMA, PTCB, and any added later).

Information we collect

Information you give us directly:

• Your email address, if you sign up for our newsletter, request a results email, save your progress mid-test, download a free study PDF, or create an account to sign in.
• Your quiz answers, scores, and study progress, which we associate with a randomly generated anonymous ID stored in your browser, and — if you create an account — with your account.
• Anything you send us directly, such as an email to our contact address or a “flag this question” report.

Information collected automatically:

• Standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected via server logs and analytics tools.
• Cookies and similar technologies used for analytics, advertising, and — if you sign in — keeping you logged in. See “Cookies” below.

How we use your information

• To operate the Site: save your quiz progress, email you a copy of your results or a study resource you requested, and let you sign in to a saved account.
• To send you study-related emails you’ve opted into (such as a study reminder sequence or newsletter). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is honored immediately.
• To understand how the Site is used, so we can improve it, via aggregated analytics.
• To show ads (see “Advertising” below) and to operate our affiliate links, which is how this Site stays free.
• To respond to you if you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information for money. As described below, our use of advertising and analytics services does involve sharing some data with those third parties, which certain state privacy laws (like California’s) define broadly enough to count as a “sale” or “share” even without a cash transaction — see “Your choices” for how to opt out.

Third parties we use

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the Site. Each processes data under their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager — aggregated usage analytics.
• Google AdSense — displays ads on the Site, which may use cookies to show ads based on your interests. See “Advertising” below.
• Amazon Associates — some product links are affiliate links; if you purchase through them, Amazon may set its own tracking cookie and we earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
• Supabase — our database and authentication provider; stores account information and saved progress for signed-in users.
• Resend — our email delivery provider; sends the transactional and study-reminder emails described above.
• YouTube — some study pages embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar local-storage technologies for: (1) keeping track of your quiz progress and anonymous ID even if you don’t create an account, (2) keeping you signed in if you have an account, (3) analytics, and (4) advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site (like saved progress) may not work correctly without them.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in that email, or contact us to be removed.
• Delete your data by emailing admin@certprepacademy.com with your email address and which certification section you used — we will delete your subscriber record, saved progress, and account data within a reasonable time.
• California, Colorado, Virginia, and similar state residents have additional rights under their state privacy laws, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request deletion, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as those states define it (which covers our use of advertising cookies). Contact us at the email above to exercise these rights.
• Do Not Track: the Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

Children’s privacy

CertPrepAcademy is intended for adults preparing for professional certification exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account or subscription is active, or as needed to provide the Site’s features, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time as described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
