Free Oklahoma CNA Practice Test 2026 — 72-Question HDmaster Exam

Oklahoma CNA exam facts for 2026: HDmaster vendor (not Prometric), a 72-question/90-minute exam with a 12-category test plan, and free practice questions.

Oklahoma CNA Exam — Key Facts (2026)

Here is what every Oklahoma CNA candidate needs to know before sitting for the exam — note that Oklahoma's exam vendor and written exam format are both genuinely different from the generic NNAAP template: • Exam vendor: HDmaster (D&S Diversified Technologies), approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) to provide testing and scoring — not Prometric • Written exam: 72 questions, 90 minutes, 70% passing score — not the 70-question/2-hour format most states use • Skills exam: 5 tasks total (handwashing, always tested, plus 4 randomly selected from the full skill list); 35 minutes; must score 80% on each task without missing any key steps • Retake: if you fail a skill task, your retest will include 5 new tasks, at least one of which will be the task you failed • Registry: Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry, maintained by OSDH If you've studied using a generic "70 questions in 2 hours, 45% Physical Care Skills" practice test, recalibrate — Oklahoma's real exam is 72 questions in 90 minutes, built from HDmaster's own 12-category Oklahoma test plan.

Oklahoma CNA Certification Overview

To become a Certified Nurse Aide in Oklahoma, you must complete a state-approved CNA training program and pass the Oklahoma Nursing Assistant Competency Exam administered by HDmaster (D&S Diversified Technologies) on behalf of the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). The exam has two parts: • A written (or oral) knowledge test: 72 multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes • A manual skills test: handwashing plus 4 randomly selected tasks from the full skill list, 35 minutes total You must pass both parts — 70% on the written test, 80% on each individual skill task — to be listed on the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry.

Oklahoma CNA Written Exam — What Is Tested

Oklahoma doesn't use the national NNAAP content outline — HDmaster, the vendor, uses its own 12-category Oklahoma-specific test plan. The 72 questions break down as: • Personal Care (11 questions) • Basic Nursing Skills (10 questions) • Data Collection (8 questions) • Infection Control (8 questions) • Communication (7 questions) • Safety (4 questions) • Mental Health (4 questions) • Care Impaired (4 questions) • Resident Rights (4 questions) • Role and Responsibility (4 questions) • Disease Process (4 questions) • Older Adult Growth & Development (4 questions) There's no single dominant category like the 45% Physical Care Skills weighting most states use — Personal Care is the largest at about 15% of the exam, but coverage is spread fairly evenly across all twelve areas.

Oklahoma HDmaster Testing Locations

The Oklahoma CNA written exam is administered by HDmaster (D&S Diversified Technologies) at testing centers throughout the state: • Oklahoma City • Tulsa • Norman • Broken Arrow • Edmond • Lawton • Moore • Midwest City • Enid • Stillwater To find the nearest testing center and available exam dates, visit hdmaster.com and search for Oklahoma nurse aide, or contact your training program for independent testing sites. Oklahoma CNA Skills Test — What to Expect

The clinical skills evaluation is conducted at an HDmaster skills testing facility. You will be assigned 5 tasks total: handwashing (always included) plus 4 more randomly selected from the full skill list. A scenario for each task is read to you immediately before you perform it, and you have 35 minutes total to complete all 5. You must score 80% on each task without missing any key (bolded) steps — key steps carry more weight than non-key steps when your score is calculated. If you fail a task, your retest will reuse 5 tasks, with at least one guaranteed to be a task you previously failed. The Oklahoma Nursing Assistant Candidate Handbook, published by HDmaster, lists every possible skill task and required step.

How to Prepare for the Oklahoma CNA Exam

Oklahoma's written exam first-attempt pass rate is approximately 70–75%. 1. Take a full 72-question diagnostic practice test before studying. Review your scores across all twelve Oklahoma content areas — don't assume one category dominates. 2. Prioritize Personal Care, Basic Nursing Skills, Data Collection, and Infection Control — the four largest categories — but budget real study time for the smaller ones too, since Oklahoma's spread is far more even than most states. 3. Practice under timed conditions — 90 minutes for 72 questions. 4. Target 85% on practice tests before your real exam. 5. For the skills test, practice handwashing to automatic habit — it's always one of your 5 assigned tasks. After You Pass — Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry

After passing both parts of the Oklahoma exam, your name is added to the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry maintained by OSDH. Oklahoma employers must verify registry status before hiring nurse aides in licensed facilities. Your Oklahoma CNA certification is valid for 24 months. To maintain active status, you must work as a nurse aide for at least 8 hours for pay during each renewal period. Lapsed certifications require retaking the competency exam. Registry status can be verified through the OSDH website.
